Not really a myth per say just something interesting to propose to you all for discussion. I was talking with my Harajuku buddies turned team mates and I found out some pretty interesting stuff. I found out that if two bands hate eachother then the fans or groups of fans known as "teams" also will hate eachother. But if two bands are friends then the fans will be friends as well. I thought this was sort of interesting becuase these sort of rivalries don't really exist in the american fan base per say. So what are your thoughts on this?

That's a scary thought but interesting to look into nonetheless. It's like small-time Yakuza activities but with music instead. Why does this give me the impression that battles will be like musical numbers?? XD

Actually my friend and I have a joke, remeber the movie, "Gangs of New York"? well we made up a movie scene from "Gangs of Harajuku" where all this dramatic battle music is playing but all anyone is doing is sitting at opposite ends of the bridge glaring at eachother. Occosionally someone will fall over dead from prolonged exposure to said glaring xD.

That's kind of sad that people will let band members decide what music they like and don't like, actually . . .
*sigh*
Besides, why should musicians hate each other? Oh yeah, if their music is crap. But if their music isn't crap, why would they hate each other? *shrug*
Stuff confuses me.

I think its a little sad though (and sorry Oro Larc isn't even consitered visual band so no larc stuff in harajuku.) but we all fight that clanist stuff here in america and just try to like music for the music but even the japanese are making cliques.

okay, but what do they do if they like both bands equally and then they hear they don't like each other?.... that'd get confusing...

That's... interesting... kind of sad nonetheless though...T_T... Mehh... I'd be torn between thinking "How sad and childish! The music is all that matters", and... looking forward to a good scrap. XD...
Sometimes, what one musician/band likes can influence me to listen as well... I got to know some new bands that way that I would never have listened to if I hadn't of heard somewhere, "Oh, so-and-so a musician likes this band" so I'll go and listen out of curiosity and find myself into something totally new... but it would never work the other way round for me... no one can make me stop liking music that I like... =P

Haahaa well we all have to realize also, is that Harajuku is mostly filled with high school students. We all know hoa pety and childish high school students can be. At the same time however, it feels well...kinda good. Its sort of hard to describe, like you've finally been accepted into a group of people that you know...matter. Lol becuase so many people have told me "XTina is just an egg, she wants to be asian sooooo bad." when they totally misread me. All I think anyone wants in this scene is acceptence. I can admit to that, I really wanted to be accepted into the Japanese scene somehow. And I feel like I have. I dunno xD its childish but meh, it can't be helped.

But if their music isn't crap, why would they hate each other? *shrug* Stuff confuses me. this is really common in Japan, particularly with Indies bands. Indies bands consider everyone else in the music scene as "rivals" (unless they are friends to begin with). It's not that they 'hate' each other, it's that they see the other band as a rival ^^d If they really hated each other they'd go out of their way to make their rival bands fail. And since Japanese fans are freakishly posessive of their favorite bands and take things way too seriously they hate the fans of that other band 8DDDD
