All right, it’s time for me to start up another thread that will get at most 5 replies. They’re a pretty new band (only 2 albums thus far) that seems to have been getting quite the bit of attention as of late. They did the second opening song for Gundam Seed and the third opening song for Bleach. They were also featured in the Product Overview section of the first issue of jrock ink.
I fail at describing my music, but I’ll give it a go anyway. If you want to take me down on my review skills, I already beat you to it.
I guess the easiest way to explain the band is as a guilty pleasure. I haven’t heard too much (or anything more than one song, actually) Evanescence, but that band comes to mind for whatever reason. High and Mighty Color features Maki’s melodic vocals over catchy hard rock guitar riffs and raspy male vocals for added support. Other people compare the band to Linkin Park or WRENCH so if that makes any sense to you, great. All I know is that they make catchy fast music with both a male and female singer. Their popularity probably turns people off because that’s what popularity does to some.
Go see them at the end of April in Texas. With band members’ ages varying from 18 to 21, they’ve accomplished quite a bit since they started (as High and Mighty Color) in 2003.
I like them. The mixture of female and male is refreshing to my ears. What’re you guy’s opinions?
