Schwardix Marvally is an awesome jrock/goth/metal band. Their first cd "kaikoroku~daisanshou~" Was a tad disappointing only because it was ALL cover songs with the bonus "onigami fuurai" song being an the only orginal song on the album. But their second cd "Heavens Romance" proved they were more than just a mere "cover band".
The line up for the band is Kiryu (aka Hisui from ex Madeth Gray'll) on vocals, Airi (Ex Madeth Gray'll & Crackbrain) on guitar, Hizaki (ex Crackbrain) on guitar. For their first cd they had a support bassist and support drummer as well as people to sit in on their cover songs as "guests" artists. They NOW have an offical bassist named "Rum".
Anyway like I said their first cd was ok for a cover cd. I don't tend to think it's a GREAT idea that bands put out "cover cds" as their introduction into the music scene but it obviously helped Schwardix Marvally alot. Since they covered such famous bands as Gargoyle, Luna Sea and Madeth Gray'll as well as featuring members of said bands on the cd it gave them that boost they need to push through the music barriers that usually bands wait months or years to make.
It also didn't hurt that Hisui is GREAT friends with Kisaki (who's record company is Undercode Productions) They were put on the line up for a few shows with other Undercode bands (as well as Doremidan and Devil Kitty and Fatima)
Anyway it was hard rocking but the fact that it only has ONE orginal song by the band is a bit saddening (and it's the hidden track none the less).
The second cd "Heaven's Romance" TOTALLY blew me away. It's SO awesome, Hisui's vocals match the hard rocking music PERFECTLY. This cd features ALL orginal songs and I'm so impressed as many people that heard it were.
Airi and Hizaki are EXCELLENT guitar players and I don't think that their talent really showed through on the first cd, Hisui's vocals reach a new high with this cd as well as the band introducing their new and offical bassist.
As bonus depending on if you bought the cd from a live or from a store you get different "bonus cds" which basically features one cd. G.O.D Kracker and I can't remember the name of the other track on the store cd version.
Anyway they haven't been together for very long and sadly they "broke up" On the 17th in Japan (well they playied their last live) It's RUMORED (don't go spreading this cause NO ONE knows if it's true or not but I think I can trust YOU all not to spread this as truth) that they are doing it to get out of their record company contract. I think IF this is true that it would be a good move for them to move over to Undercode Productions where they BELONGED IN THE FIRST PLACE >>;
I only heard them play lives that Kisaki set up anyway and they weren't getting the publicity they RIGHTFULLY deserved from their record company anyway.
One can only HOPE this is the reason for the break up, They were an AWESOME band, a true orginal and really has that "indies" quality I look for in ALL my bands.
I'll be very upset if they never get back together and if Kisaki doesn't snatch them up for his record company.
Anyway sorry this is so short but please any questions, ask away I know more than I'm putting here XD
Anyone want MP3s let me know as well.
