I fell in love with them 30 seconds into Kurenai, which was my first X Japan song. *worships*

Haha I wish I can play any kind of instrument (no worries....Kaga will learn the guitar during summer....to make up for my lost credits XD). Percival can play the entire Blue Blood album...*sigh* being serenaded by Kurenai brings to mind fond, fond memories

Playing that album on your acoustic is fun. And by fun, I mean painful.

*gonk* I'm all for the fact that YOU are playing for the both of us~! XD haha....but yeah, it does take skill to do all of that album on a crappy acoustic (sorry Kaoru, but you aren't all that great XDDD;;; ). And this is coming from a loser that doesn't even play that guitar ><;;

...........define...... inept? *small vocabulary*
I'm good at reading music, because I've been doing it for like, seven years, but this guitar thing . . . 'tis tough, man. He's teaching acoustic, fingerpicking style. 0.0

Well...think of "inept" as in...... "Completely and utterly challenged" XD.
That's cool, I usually like to fingerpick because picks kinda piss me off now for some reason....I keep hitting the string below the one I'm supposed to be picking. Ooops.

I was like that at first (I taught myself guitar with a Toys R Us 20$ crap acoustic in high school). I wasn't confident enough to use a pick because I kept accidentally hitting the wrong strings. But if you just stick at it enough, you can overcome anything. I primarily use pick now rather than my fingers, even if it's playing the intro to Kurenai. I also taught myself with a right handed guitar despite being left handed. Hard work can beat anything!

Lefties! Huzzah! *isn't a lefty but wishes she was one* I have so much trouble with it . . . because I keep switching strings accidentally, I have no clue where the strings are. I'm used to playing bass (which I do badly), so my left hand is also really screwed up because my fingers want to reach farther than they need to. But I'm determined, because I want to be able to do this! NOT to turn this into a Miyavi topic of course. *no more Miyavi in the thread*

I'm sorta learning to play the bass. Kinda.....I think it'd probably be easier for me.....I'll just stick with Guitar Freaks either way XD. I'd think bass would be easier for me to learn but methinks I should learn guitar before moving to bass ^^;;

Bass is easy to learn, but hard to master. I'd play it, but I just don't like the way it sounds. Practicing guitar in the corner of a room sounds better than playing a bass-line to my ears.
There really isn't too much of a difference in what you learn (as a beginner), in my opinion. I learned some bass while I was starting guitar and just applied it... But then this is coming from a guy that knows nothing of chords so I'll shut up now.
