Since not everyone who makes it here makes it to the main site not everyone gets to see the lovely informative articles there. And since I can't make updates at this time I'm posting the various articles in their sections AND to those who have pending articles I'll make forums for your artists and I'll post those articles that you have so nicely submitted in those forums too. Once I get access to my server again I'll make the updates on the site and hopefully add those new articles too. Thank you for your patience.

Matsumoto hideto (Mat-Soo-moe-toe. Hee- day-toe), or “hide” for short, was the "Jimmy Page" of Japanese rock music. He was a talented musician who was considered to be one of Japan’s most lovable “bad boys”. hide was in many bands before going solo including such influential bands as Saver Tiger, X-Japan, and Zilch. He always insisted that people not capitalize his name when written in English, he said he "wasn't a big deal." But you shouldn't go correcting people on their spelling of his name wither because that would be placing importance on him. hide was known for his fun personality (though many of his band mates would contest he was a rather mean drunk. In interviews hide would say he regretted the things he did while he was drunk) hide died tragically on May 2, 1998 due to accidental suicide (Autopsy reports indicated that he was intoxicated at the time of his death). He is one of my personal favorite artists so I’m going to stop blabbing about him and start blabbing about his music.
hide played lead guitar in the band X Japan then later and while still playing with the band began making his own solo records. In 1996 he joined up as the lead vocalist in the grunge-metal band "Zilch" then went on to play with the infamous band "Spread Beaver". His style is best described as cybornetic rock (with lots of random hats, goggles, space suits, pink hair, and a whole arsenal of naughty looking props.) which is a combination of rock and electronica
His voice is sort of scratchy but good in its own respect. If you prefer sophisticated and sweet sounding music then hide is NOT for you. You should look into his old band mate Yoshiki for that sort of music. His songs are usually either silly, angry, dirty or a mixture of the three. The only other artist I can compare him to vocally is the lead singer of the American alternative rock band "The Smashing Pumpkins", Billy Corrgan. Billy and hide have a similar voice in my opinion.
After hide's death a memorial and a museum were erected in his honor. Sadly the museum is closed now but his memory and his music lives on in the hearts of his fans.
Please feel free to add on to this article by placing VALID information below. Further discussion of this band should take place within the forum and NOT in this topic. Thank you
